VIENNA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Vienna International Airport – Vienna International Airport (telephone 7007 2231/2232/2233) is situated 12 miles east of the centre and has recently been extended, allowing for a more extensive shopping and eating area to be developed. There is also a good information kiosk, a supermarket, banks and the usual car hire companies all situated in the arrivals hall so if you hire a car it is simple to pick it up at Vienna Airport.

The City Air Terminal Bus (CAT), telephone 580 0354, runs daily from 5.30am-11pm, costs €9 one way and leaves the airport every 30mins for the City Air Terminal at Wien-Mitte (U-bahn stop Landstrasse/ Wien Mitte), a journey that takes approx 16mins.

The S-Bahn line S7 train leaves every half an hour from the airport and take 30 minutes to reach Wien Mitte, with its final destination being Wien Nord (U-bahn stop Praterstern). The train runs daily, 4.30am-10pm and costs €3 one way.

Alternatively, buses going to Schwedenplatz leave every 20 minutes from 6.20am until after midnight. The journey takes 20 minutes and costs €6 one way, €12 return. There are also buses leaving every half an hour for Sudbahnhof and Westbahnhof.

Taxis are also available from outside the terminal buildings, the specific airport taxi company is called C+K Airport Service and they charge €25 one way from the airport into the city.
